Passion

In the wilderness of desert
Aimless, clueless of what I sought
Trudged on miles of sand, then
You invaded as a transforming thought

Ere there was unquenchable thirst
What for, I knew not
Then fell a drop of water
Afters ages of drought

That festive day of Spring
Comes once in a thousand suns
When that rare flower blossoms
Having shriveled for seasons,

Shuddering I kissed your crest
And the two eyes to your soul
The rosy buds then sighed as
My lips grazed in a trembling whorl

A release of molten deluge
From the bowels of the earth
The dormant one now explodes
Celebrating its rebirth

Swept by the manic need to possess
To compensate for past dearth
Now that the distant bird hath come
She will know her true worth

The massive rocky cliffs
Meet the force of raging sea
That age old joining due
'Twixt frigid you, passionate me
